Speaker: Dennis Gorton

You are invited to hear Dennis Gorton discuss the supply chain network of SECORCARES.  SECORCARES is a food bank in Parker, CO that has been around for 25 plus years and was incorporated as a faith based non-profit free food market in 2006. In the past four years they have grown from serving about 100 families to 1500 today. They are launching this week a mobile market which was built for them by Christian Brothers Automotive. This market will allow them to serve an additional 2,000 families in areas where they have no transportation. They also have 2 secondary locations we serve as well. Their food for thought program feeds about 1400 kids and their families over the weekends who normally have no food to eat. They have 33,000 kids on our waiting list from the public school district in Douglas, Arapahoe, and Elbert Counties. They know there are 49,000 families in our three counties struggling with suburban poverty. The opportunities are limitless.

Dennis has had the privilege of serving with SECORCARES for the past 4 years. Prior to that he began a very successful real estate team and sold that business after 5 years exceptional growth. For the four decades prior to that he served with a church association and traveled around the world and throughout the US training pastors and dealing with redeveloping struggling churches. His wife and he have three children and 8 grandchildren who are the driving force in our life these days. He loves his job and the work but, lives to build into our grandchildren the kind of values needed in our world today.
