TOPIC: “Transportation in Colorado:  Current Status and Challenges for the Future”

SPEAKER: Greg Fulton,

President of Colorado Motor Carriers Association

Location: Renaissance Denver Stapleton Hotel

Greg will discuss the current status of Transportation in the State of Colorado, and look to the future where congestion is more prevalent than today.  He will discuss the various transportation improvements planned for the state, including I-70 and I-25, and whether the near future will include autonomous vehicles.  In addition, the topic of transportation funding mechanisms and related legislation will be covered.  Greg will outline freight-specific issues, but will also cover passenger transportation.

Greg is the President of the Colorado Motor Carriers Association, an organization that represents over 600 companies either directly involved in trucking or affiliated with trucking in Colorado.  Mr. Fulton has been the director of the association for the past 22 years. 

Prior to assuming his position as President of the Colorado Motor Carriers Association, Greg worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation for 17 years where he managed the agency’s freight activities.  During his tenure with the Department of Transportation, he also directed various other programs involving a variety of modes.

Greg has a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado. 

Greg serves on various transportation-related boards including the Trucking Association Executive Council, the Colorado Motor Carrier Advisory Council, the Colorado Highway Users Conference, the Western States Transportation Alliance, and the Colorado Freight Advisory Committee.
