TOPIC: “Success of Colorado National Guard”

Speaker: Major General (R) H. Michael Edwards
Retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Mike Edwards will talk about the missions and accomplishments of the Colorado National Guard during the past decade while he served as the Adjutant General of Colorado and the Executive Director of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. During his tenure, more than 6,000 CONG Citizen-Soldiers and Citizen-Airmen mobilized in support of overseas contingency operations.
Maj. Gen Edwards oversaw a record-setting response to some of the worst natural disasters impacting Colorado, including the High Park Fire and the Waldo Canyon Fire during 2012, followed by the Black Forest Fire and historic flooding along the Colorado Front Range in 2013.
Air Force Maj. Gen. Mike Edwards served as the 42nd Adjutant General of Colorado from 2007-17.
A member of the Governor’s cabinet, Edwards simultaneously served as Executive Director of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, which provides guidance and support to its three divisions: Veterans Affairs; National Guard; Civil Air Patrol.
Maj. Gen Edwards was responsible for the command administration of more than 5,300 Colorado Army and Air National Guard members serving in the Colorado National Guard. The National Guard is the first military responder during domestic emergencies and as the federal government’s combat reserve, deploys overseas in support of the war fight.
Maj. Gen Edwards graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1973. He was a command pilot with more than 4,600 military flight hours, including 135 combat hours. He flew A-7, AT-38, C-21, F-4, F-16, T-37 and T-38 aircraft.
Maj. Gen Edwards’ military service spans 43 years including 36 years serving in the Colorado Air National Guard.
Mile High Operations Tour
As an additional special event, we have 50 slots for a special tour of Mile High. The first tour of 25 people will begin at 5:30 the next tour will begin at 5:45 and will be done at 6:30. No reservations for the tour is possible so it is first come first served.
Parking Instructions
Once you have parked, walk towards the stadium and around the East side (Right side) of the building, making your way to Gate 7. Gate 7 is a smaller Gate located between Gate 8 and Gate 6. Once inside Gate 7, staff will direct you to the Bud Light Champions Club.
