All of us desire to see positive improvement in our lives, in the organizations we work for, and in our society as a whole. In our workplaces, many of these improvements are being accelerated by dynamic external pressures, and these pressures result in changes to our lives.

And yet, while many organizations are increasingly exposing their employees to change, they are not always teaching their executives, operations managers, and improvement teams how to effectively manage the "people" side of change. Gary Vansuch and Jocelyn Higashide, both from the Colorado Department of Transportation, will discuss why change management needs to be a key competency for you and your organization, and will share some tools regarding how to improve the practice of change management in your career as an operations management professional. 

Gary is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and a Certified Change Management Practitioner. Additionally, Gary served 6 years with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program, including 4 years as a Senior Examiner and as a member of the national Case Study Development Team. He has over 30 years of business improvement and change leadership experience in the energy, financial services and government services sectors. 

Jocelyn Higashide is a Process Improvement Intern for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). Jocelyn is a recent graduate from Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) in Civil Engineering Technology, with a minor in Mathematics.
