Topic: Agentic AI 101 for Supply Chain & The Human Side of Artificial Intelligence

Speaker: Tim Spencer

This presentation provides a practical introduction to Agentic AI and what it means for modern supply chains. Using real-world supply chain examples and case studies, we’ll show what types of problems AI agents are well suited to solve (and which ones they are not). We’ll also illustrate how agents operate across planning, procurement, operations, and supplier workflows. Participants will leave with a practical way to identify high-value supply chain use cases and assess where Agentic AI can have the greatest impact.

Participants will then participate in guided roundtable discussions, exploring the implications of AI adoption, beyond the technology itself. What does AI mean for team structures, roles, and capacity - including how businesses should think about hiring, reskilling, and redeploying talent, and how universities should think about curricula as automation increases. The discussion will address common fears around AI, how to talk about AI internally, and how to bring teams along without resistance or uncertainty. We’ll also examine how AI can improve job satisfaction by removing low-value, repetitive work, allowing teams to focus on higher-impact initiatives.
