We make 1000s of decisions every day. Most of the time, we don’t even think about them. What to wear or eat is usually easy to choose. The choice of what project to start or what new product to launch creates lots more challenges. This intensifies as more people or departments provide their ‘advice’ while the decision deadline looms.

In this talk, based on the book W.I.S.E. Choices at Work, we will learn to understand what type of decision we face. This will help us avoid paralysis by analysis for simple decisions and understand what level of rigor complex decisions need. We will also cover the basic elements of a visible decision-making process. The approach helps people start in the right direction and, more importantly, stay on track. This approach provides a written record of the decision for future reference. 

Dan Kowalski works independently as a Solution Instigator. This means he asks the questions that people don’t know to ask, think to ask, or sometimes are afraid to ask. When he does this, his clients develop better answers. He has worked for every type of company around the world in many industries for over 30 years.
