Join us as Dr. Valencia guides us through value stream mapping. He will provide us with a new perspective on the process improvement method by discussing the leadership needed for the VSM method. In this webinar, we will learn about value stream mapping and five team-centered approaches that will increase the likelihood for success as a facilitator: - Socialize your project - Be a teacher to your team - Have a clear charter - Keep your champion engaged - Don't be afraid to change the improvement plan.

Dr. Vhance Valencia is an active-duty Air Force Lieutenant Colonel with nearly 20 years of service as an Engineer. He has worked on dozens of major military construction projects either as a Project Manager or leading teams in different capacities. Over his career, the value of this construction is over $2.1B. He holds a master's degree and Engineering Management, and a PhD in Systems Engineering. Dr. Valencia has taught graduate students in engineering fields for the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. He has successfully led half a dozen value stream mapping events in the Air Force since leaving AFIT. He is currently an engineer for US Space Command.
Vhance lives in Colorado Springs with his bride Amanda and two beautiful girls, Addison and Alexandria. In pre-COVID times, the family would be exploring the world through travel or found hitting the slopes on winter weekends.
Vhance has just launched a blog vhancevalencia.com writing about Lean Six Sigma, productivity, and posting resources to help process improvers master their craft.
